Submit an open-source app

Know a great self-hosted project that is missing from the catalog? Send us the GitHub repository and we will review it. Stars, activity and license data are pulled from GitHub automatically.

Repository details

Only the repository URL is required.

Only used to tell you when the app goes live.

What we list

  • Open source, with a recognised license in the repository
  • Self-hostable on your own server, ideally with Docker
  • Clear install instructions in the README or docs
  • Commits or a release within the last 12 months
  • A working app, not only a library or a framework

What we skip

  • Closed-source products or open-core projects that need a paid key to run
  • Archived, abandoned or pre-alpha repositories
  • Forks without meaningful changes from the original

FAQ

Submission questions

Still curious? Email info@appsgit.com.

Is it free to list an app on appsgit?

Yes. Listing is free and always will be. Organic rankings are based on GitHub stars and activity. If you want extra visibility, Featured listings are available separately and are clearly labelled.

How long does a review take?

Most submissions are reviewed within a week. If you leave an email address, we let you know when the app goes live or explain what is missing.

Can I submit a project I do not maintain?

Yes. Anyone can suggest an app they use and like. If you are the maintainer, say so in the note and we can use your preferred description and category.
