# MCP Alchemy (MCP server)

> MCP Alchemy is an MCP server that adds database tools to AI assistants such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor. A MCP (model context protocol) server that gives the LLM access to and knowledge about relational databases like SQLite, Postgresql… It has 422 GitHub stars, is released under the MPL-2.0 license and runs locally with uvx mcp-alchemy.

Status: Actively maintained and in daily use. Tested releases are published to PyPI with git tags, and issues and pull requests are triaged regularly.
