# Hookdeck CLI (MCP server)

> Hookdeck CLI is an MCP server that adds tools to AI assistants such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor. CLI for Hookdeck: forward webhooks to localhost (ngrok alternative), manage and query Event Gateway resources (sources, connections, destinations, events), run… It has 365 GitHub stars, is released under the Apache-2.0 license and runs locally with npx -y hookdeck-cli.

Using the Hookdeck CLI, you can forward your events (e.g. webhooks) to your local web server with unlimited free and permanent event URLs. Your event history is preserved between sessions and can be viewed, replayed, or used for testing by you and your teammates.
