# Fcp MCP Server (MCP server)

> Fcp MCP Server is an MCP server that adds tools to AI assistants such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor. MCP server for Final Cut Pro XML. Lets Claude read, edit and generate real timelines: cut detection, markers, roles, transcript-based… It has 130 GitHub stars, is released under the MIT license and runs locally with uvx fcp-mcp-server.

Edit Final Cut Pro by talking to Claude, and watch the cut change. One prompt, seven tool calls, and the timeline re-rendered inline after each write. Every frame is the real ui://fcp/timeline app drawing a real viewtimeline result; the B-roll provider is mocked and the recording says so on screen. Full-size mp4, re-recorded with demo/hero/build.py.*
