# ISpotify (open-source media player)

> ISpotify is a free, open-source media player for Windows and Linux. Local-first desktop music search, playlist, download, and playback app for Windows and Linux. It has 1,899 GitHub stars and is released under the MIT license. Its source code is on GitHub at RubinLabs26/ISpotify.

The current stable release is v19.5.0. Checksums are published beside the standalone executables. The installer checks your system, detects apt, dnf, yum, pacman, zypper, apk, xbps, or emerge, and installs aria2 for fast resumable downloads with live progress and speed. It can add the signed APT or pacman repository where supported and falls back to a portable user installation on other compatible glibc systems.
